Last night we had some beers and pizza before crashing after a long day.
This morning we grabbed breakfast and jumped on a train to escape the suburbs of Santander, starting our walk from Mar.

Mar was very industrial, but after leaving it behind, we climbed out of Viveda towards Santillana del Mar.
This is a very popular tourist town with the Spanish, with lots of beautiful old buildings, mainly churches, as well as plenty of gift shops.
We then had to climb out of Santillana before dropping into a landscape of small hamlets and farmland.

we meet some very friendly donkeys who looked like they need some grass.

We stopped for lunch and a few beers, then staggered the remaining distance to our accommodation.
We did 22km and 365m of elevation.
So total so far is 147.76 km walked and 2,375 m of elevation.
