So I had been to Arzúa in 2024 as this is where the Norte meets the Francés and I decided to stay in the same Alberge. I went out to have a quick bite to eat at 18.30, but a lot of the restaurants had not opened yet. There was a restaurant 3 minutes away that was open and had good reviews but the menu was limited. I did know there was a really good pizzeria about 20 minutes away that I had been to in 2024. Did not really want to walk that fR but went anyway. To my great surprise as I walked in the door there was my Camino Amigo Brett, who had just sat down. So I joined him and we had a very nice pizza, a bottle of wine and great conversation. Our conversation revolved around food and he told me about his introduction to Epoisses a French, cheese.
I got to my Alberge and fell asleep at 22.00 and woke at 23.45. The German reception staff were both having a little party playing hell metal music on an iPhone on the ground floor outside the window, we were on the first floor. It wasn’t really loud but loud enough. I was patient and let it go but by 00.30 they had gotten louder. I didn’t really want to confront them directly so I decided to ring the Alberge, to my surprise someone answered and I asked them to ask the people in the garden to keep the noise down, 1 minute later it stopped and the others in the dorm were very grateful.
At about 01.00 I discovered I had three insect bites and didn’t know if they were bed bugs or mosquetis. I took antihistamine and then i heard the mozzy hovering near me. I was relieved it was a mozzy and not bed bugs. Sleep still was not great.

Departed hostel at 7.30 and grabbed a coffee in nearby cafe. It was rain moderetlymy target was A Lavacolla another big day at 30km.

I’m staying at Albergue A Fábrica, friendly and modern with a restaurant and bar nearby. Managed to do a full machine wash and dry of everything and should now have enough clothes for the rest of the trip. No more hand washing. 😀
I went to the bar for a drink and the Camino family were there in the restaurant but they were eating etc I just wanted a beer. I headed to the bar and met Dave (Rawcliffe)from Manchester. He actually now lives in the Lake District, he had finished the Portuguese and was now heading to the airport which is only 2.5km from here.
We had the beer and dinner together, then another beer followed by a Pacharan, he was great company.
